Pietradolce, meaning ‘sweet stone’ after the volcanic soil that makes the wines of Etna so unique, was founded in 2005 by Michele Faro and his family. Transparent ruby red, very bright, with aromas of pomegranate, iris and pink pepper. The palate is fruity, with a warm tannic texture that characterises the finish. “Great entry for Sicilian red. Similar in weight and style to pinot but more fruit forward. Notes of cranberry, strawberry, grapefruit and minerals.”
